Eat in Pisticci or back in Matera. Finish with a glass of Amaro Lucano, the local herbal liqueur.
Photography tips
- Morning and late afternoon give the best light on the tower.
- Wide views are from the roads around the hill.
- Drones are subject to Italian rules; check before flying.
Practicalities
There is little shade; bring water and a hat in summer. The route is not suitable for people with reduced mobility.
